River Cabin

Location
Finnlough
Year
2024
Footprint
30 m²

A warmer, more durable answer to the resort’s iconic bubbles.

River Cabin was developed to replace Finnlough’s bubbles with a more integrated, warm and durable solution. The new structure combines wood and glass, replacing the former transparent plastic base with a solid construction that responds cohesively to the surrounding landscape.

The brief set a strict limit: the space could not exceed 30 m², the exact footprint of the former bubbles. That constraint guided a compact, functional and comfortable pod that recaptures the sense of shelter while keeping a visual connection with the surroundings. A large window frames the landscape and becomes the centre of the experience.

Every detail of the cabin was considered to optimise functionality, ergonomics and spatial quality, balancing aesthetics, warmth and practicality.

An intimate, understated space where the architecture supports the guest without dominating, and the natural environment remains the protagonist.
